Appoint Mellisa Hannum as the Mendocino County Librarian effective May 26, 2024, at an annual salary of $112,257.60 based on the salary range of $112,257.60-$136,427.20 with said compensation and any benefits being subject to applicable County policies, agreements, actions by the Board of Supervisors, and other applicable laws; and annual increases within the salary range approved based on satisfactory annual performance evaluation by the Board of Supervisors; and authorize Chair to sign the same.

Board of Supervisors appointed Mellissa Hannum in Board Supervisor’s Closed Session meeting on May 8, 2024.
Summary of Request:
The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the Appointment of Mellisa Hannum during the Closed Session meeting on May 8, 2024. Mellisa was hired in December of 2021 as the Branch Library of the Point Arena branch. Mellisa successfully obtained her master’s in library science in March of 2023. Mellisa will continue to oversee the Point Area branch as well as her new leadership role as Mendocino County Librarian.
The action today is to formally appoint Mellisa Hannum as the County Librarian and establish her starting salary.
