Summary of Request:
On June 7, 2022, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. BOS-22-150 with Redwood Community Services, Inc., DBA Redwood Community Crisis Center (RC3) for crisis response, and outreach and engagement to children and young adults in Mendocino County who are experiencing crisis episodes. Through this Agreement, RC3 offers crisis services to 100% of clients at assessment with a focus on stabilization and linkage to providers within the community including, 24/7 crisis response, and crisis assessment and stabilization services to all First Episode Psychosis (FEP) clients in a timely manner throughout all of Mendocino County. RC3 also provides 60 days of in-house rehabilitation and therapeutic services to FEP crisis clients and provides referrals and/or linkages to appropriate community resources for long-term, post-crisis stabilization to FEP clients who consent. When applicable, these services are funded through Medi-Cal and/or the Mental Health Services Act Community Services and Supports (MHSA CSS). Many times, youth may be uninsured, and unable to apply for Medi-Cal due to immigration issues, etc. RC3 serves qualified youth, including Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) up to their 25th birthday, and youth with FEP, regardless of ability to pay.
The proposed Amendment to Agreement No. BOS 22-150, increases the amount to match what the Department of Health Care Services allocated for the program for Fiscal Year 2022-23. Once the proposed Amendment is executed, it will be effective for the full term of the Agreement, from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
