Summary of Request:
Magellan Health Services of California, Inc. - Employer Services (Magellan) has offered Employee
Assistance Program services to Mendocino County employees and their dependents since October 2014.
Agreement No. BOS-24-147 with Magellan was approved by the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors (BOS) on September 10, 2024, and effective on July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, and included up to 10 in-person counseling sessions per 12-month period per issue for employees and their household members. Additionally, through Agreement No. BOS-24-147, Law Enforcement Personnel had access to a separate First Responder EAP, providing 10 in-person counseling sessions per issue, culturally tailored to their needs.
First Amendment No. BOS-25-128 to Agreement No. BOS-24-147 was approved by the BOS on July 29, 2025, extending the term through June 30, 2026, increasing the total amount from $90,000 to $180,000, and adding an Exhibit #1, Combined Evidence of Coverage and Disclosure Form specific to Law Enforcement Personnel, and another Exhibit #1, Combined Evidence of Coverage and Disclosure Form specific to General Employees.
The proposed second Amendment to Agreement No. BOS-24-147 extends the term again through June 30, 2029, and updates termination terms, notices details, training hours, fee schedule, and the two Exhibit #1 documents.
