Approve second amendment to BOS Agreement 24-099 with County of Siskiyou for youth detention services provided by County of Mendocino Juvenile Hall to extend the termination date from June 30, 2026, to June 30, 2028, and increase the daily rate by $25 from $175 to $200; authorize Chief Probation Officer to sign any future amendments, which includes amendments increasing the daily rate, that do not increase the total Agreement amount; and authorize the Chair to sign same.

Board of Supervisors approved the initial agreement on June 25, 2024.
Summary of Request:
Siskiyou County Probation contracts with other counties for their juvenile detention services as they no longer operate a juvenile detention facility in their county. Siskiyou County Probation requested to enter into a daily bed rate contract with Mendocino County in the event that other counties with whom they were contracting had insufficient bed space to accommodate their needs. This amendment would provide a daily rate of $200.00 on an as-needed basis when Mendocino County Juvenile Hall has available capacity. This is a revenue agreement for Mendocino County. Siskiyou County will be invoiced on a monthly basis for daily housing as well as other costs such as medical services, medication, etc. when a youth is detained by Mendocino County Juvenile Hall.
