Summary of Request

Nuestra Alianza de Willits provides essential services under the PEI subsection of MHSA. This program focuses on outreach to underserved populations, particularly the Spanish-speaking community in and around Willits, helping them access mental health care. Nuestra Alianza de Willits assists individuals in navigating the mental health system, facilitates access to assessments for Spanish speakers, and refers clients to other providers when necessary.

Additionally, they offer various wellness activities, including tax preparation and navigation for public benefits programs. While providing these services, they also conduct important mental health checkups, aiming to support an underserved community during times of high stress. For many, these services serve as the only link to mental health resources, exacerbated by geographic isolation and cultural barriers.

These services are funded through MHSA and are part of the mandatory programs that all counties are required to provide. The collaborative work of Nuestra Alianza de Willits, alongside other MHSA providers, helps to establish a comprehensive network of mental health services throughout Mendocino County.
