Summary of Request:
The purpose of the Public Health Advisory Board is to advise and assist the Public Health Department’s efforts to address public health issues affecting the community, as well as providing reports and recommendations to the County of Mendocino Board of Supervisors and Public Health Director on a regular basis.
The proposed bylaws provide the structure and details around how the board will function, what the duties of the board are, how the membership is distributed, and how meetings will be held. The Public Health Advisory Board is an official Board/Commission of the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors and supports the Public Health commitment to safeguard and protect the health and wellbeing of our Mendocino County residents. Community participation through the advisory board will assist in creating transparency and communication, expand access to information, better leverage funding, and improve health outcomes for Mendocino County.
