Summary of Request:
This agreement will provide specialized mental health treatment for Mendocino County juvenile probation youth in a locked facility to ensure their own and the community’s safety and protection. Humboldt County’s Northern California Regional Facility has provided specialized acute care and rehabilitation for Mendocino County youth with complex mental health and other systemic issues for the past nine years. The Northern California Regional Facility provides beds to outside counties who desire a probation placement for their juvenile wards. The Health & Human Services Agency has historically held both agreement with Humboldt County in an effort to leverage funding and services for Mendocino County juvenile probation youth. The Humboldt Regional Facility provides a very prescriptive program targeting harder to place youth with a high level of mental health needs that cannot currently be served through Mendocino County’s facilities.
