Summary of Request:
Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center (MCHC) is a unique provider of services on the Mendocino County Coast for severely mentally disabled clients experiencing homelessness, who are residents of the Homeless Shelter and Transitional Housing Apartments. On July 1, 2024, the County of Mendocino Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Department executed Agreement No. MH-24-003 with MCHC for services to severely mentally disabled clients per the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) grant. Services under the Agreement include outreach, case management, supportive supervisory services to maintain housing, shelter services, transitional and permanent housing, and resource center and case management services. Additionally, MCHC refers PATH clients to California Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, CalWORKs, and directly provides clients with habilitation vocational services.
PATH funding used for agreements such as Agreement No. MH-24-003 has been granted to the County of Mendocino since Fiscal Year (FY) 2014-15, with the FY 2024-25 allocation originally providing $18,586 for qualified services from MCHC. Recently, the Department of Health Care Services received an additional $38,220.50 for FY 2024-25 PATH funding and chose to grant it to the County of Mendocino, to supplement the previous allocation. Through the proposed Amendment, additional PATH funds will be used to increase Outreach Specialist and Mental Health Rehab Specialist services, for a new allocation total of $56,806.50.
