Summary of Request

Across the nation, people are recognizing the week of May 20-26, 2018, as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week and acknowledging the valuable service provided by EMS responders.  In recognition of this vital public service, we are requesting that the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors proclaim the week of May 20-26, 2018, as Emergency Medical Services Week.  EMS teams consist of emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, dispatch centers, law enforcement personnel, educators, administrators, and may others.

As a focal point for local EMS Week activities, the 6th annual reunion of patient survivors and their rescuers will be held on May 23, 2018, where local emergency response agencies will join in recognizing these local heroes.

Staff is extending an invitation to all Board members to attend the Survivor’s Reunion and ask that one read the proclamation at this event.
