Authorize the Facilities and Fleet Division Manager to establish Capital Improvement projects for the main jail sewer line emergency repairs in the amount of $15,000, Congressman Huffman’s office/Recovery Building emergency HVAC replacement in the amount of $9,000, and replacement of refrigeration equipment for the jail kitchen walk-in refrigerator in the amount of $25,000.

Approval of the 2018-2019 Capital Improvement Budget including allocation of $50,000 for Unanticipated Capital Projects and $100,000 for HVAC System Upgrades and Replacement.
Summary of Request:
Annual Budgeting for the Capital Improvement Fund includes allocations for maintenance and upkeep projects that are not know when the budget is created. In recent years these have been divided into general categories for greater clarity; the categories are:

Individual projects are created as the need arises and budgeted from these allocations based on estimates from the Facilities and Fleet Division. Facilities and Fleet recommends budgets for these projects as follows:
• Main Jail (Building 43) Sewer Line Emergency Repairs - $15,000 from Unanticipated Capital Project
• Congressman Huffman’s Office/Recovery Building (Building 34) Emergency HVAC Replacement - $9,000 from HVAC System Upgrades and Replacement
• Refrigeration Equipment for the Jail Kitchen (Building 47) Walk-in Refrigerator - $25,000 HVAC System Upgrades and Replacement
Alternative Action/Motion:
Direct staff to identify alternative funding sources for these projects.
