Summary of Request:
Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP (Hawkins) is a public finance and infrastructure project delivery law firm offering governmental agencies, non-profit corporations and financial institutions legal services and counsel in finance and infrastructure transaction. Hawkins was founded in 1854, and currently has 90 lawyers in ten offices across the country.
Mendocino County, County Counsel has entered into Agreements with Hawkins in the past for legal services, specifically bond counsel. Now, the Mendocino County Executive Office requests Board approval to enter into the proposed Agreement with Hawkins for assistance in structuring a legal bond issuance. Services may include: preparing legal documents; ensuring Official Statements comply with all applicable securities laws; reviewing Bond Purchase Agreement; advising on bond proceeds; attending County Board meetings; participating in rating agency and bond insurer meetings; rendering opinions required in connection with financing; providing informal financing advice; preparing financing transcripts; and providing other legal services as needed.
