Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On January 21, 2020 the Board approved Agreement No. 18-157 A1. On November 13, 2018 the Board approved Agreement No. 18-157.
Summary of Request:
Magellan Health Services of California, Inc. - Employer Services (Magellan) has been providing Employee Assistance Program services to Mendocino County employees and their dependents since October, 2014. The current Agreement is for a predetermined number of in person counseling sessions per employee per issue with Safety personnel allowed more visits than non-safety personnel.
Human Resources is requesting to increase the number of allowed sessions for non-safety personnel from six (6) sessions, as stated in the current exhibits A and B, to ten (10) sessions per issue. Offering additional sessions is a recommended outcome of the Employee Relations Ad Hoc Committee. The increase in the number of sessions does change the monthly Per Employee Per Month (PEPM) fee however, the previously approved contract amount is expected to be sufficient to cover the increase due to a miscalculation that was made in the employee count at the time of the original Agreement. No additional monies are requested for the Agreement total, at this time.
A Single Sign On (SSO) feature is also included in this request. The SSO will allow employees to sign into the Magellan website through another associated site without requiring another log in process.
The effective date of the additional sessions is being requested retroactively to November 1, 2020.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to Human Resources with further direction.
