Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

On June 22, 2021, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Master Position Allocation Table for the FY 2021-2022 Budget, Resolution Number 21-090.                     

 

Summary of Request

The Human Resources Department is charged, as part of the overall maintenance of the classification and compensation plan, to evaluate current classifications, create new classifications (including appropriate salary levels), reclassify positions, examine requests for salary grade adjustments, analyze allocations, and make recommendations for additions, modifications, and corrections.

 

On March 16, 2022, the Civil Service Commission approved the new classification of Accountant-Auditor I/II series and the reclassification of the incumbents.  Civil Service Commission approved the abolishment of the Accountant and Auditor classifications.    

 

Human Resources recommends the Board adopt the classification of Accountant-Auditor I/II series. Pay Range of Accountant-Auditor I $28.77 - $34.98/Hour (Annually $59,841.60 - $72,758.40), Accountant-Auditor II $32.70 - $39.75/Hour (Annually $68,016.00 - $82,680.00), and recommends the Board authorize all Accountant and Auditor incumbents as an Accountant-Auditor I or II.  The new classifications allow for a greater applicant pool.

 

Human Resources recommends the Board authorize the deletion of 3.0 FTE Accountant, Position No. 0058, 3939, 4400 and 2.0 FTE Auditor, Position No. 1922, 4001; the addition of 4.0 FTE Accountant-Auditor II, position numbers to be determined; and the addition of 1.0 FTE of Senior Department Analyst ($33.99 - $41.31/Hour (Annually $70,699.20 - $85,924.80) due to the departmental needs.

 

 

The impact shown below for the fiscal year reflects the approximate increate to Budget unit 1110 beginning pay period 10-22 (May 1, 2022) at incumbents current step, and includes the costs of benefits.  The annual recurring cost shown below is calculated at Step 5, Accountant-Auditor II (4.0 FTE) including the cost of benefits and 1.0 FTE at Step 5, Senior Department Analyst including cost of benefits.

 

The County has fulfilled its obligations under Myers-Milias Brown Act (MMBA) with the affected bargaining units.
