Summary of Request:
Since May of 2020, Redwood Community Services (RCS) has been supporting the County in an effort to keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) entered into an Agreement with RCS on May 15, 2020, for meal and medication delivery, transportation, telecommunication, and trash pickup services for those placed in insolation and/or quarantine; this contract, however, ended on September 30, 2020. The proposed retroactive Agreement extends services covered by the previous contract from October 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. RCS has the staff and the resources, along with multiple office locations spread throughout the County, to continue to assist the County with provision of these services.
HHSA staff priorities have been adversely affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which created a longer than expected processing time for this Agreement. Similar delays also affected RCS’s review and signature process. HHSA therefore requests retroactive approval of the proposed Agreement.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
