Summary of Request

In conjunction with our Library consortium and in an effort to increase outreach, Mendocino County Library would like to add two new Library card types with special borrowing privileges:  the Educator Card and the Agency Card. The Educator and Agency Cards would be created after verifying the card holder status with official documents, and items checked out on the cards would receive no late fines and would allow the waiving of charges for up to four lost item per calendar year. The goal of the Educator and Agency Cards is to provide educational resources and access to materials in support of our communities.

The Educator Cards may be issued to any educator employed by an educational institution in Mendocino County including but not limited to educational institutions such as public or private schools, religious schools, certified home schools, licensed childcare providers, recreational leaders, and student educators. Agency Cards may be issued to agencies in Mendocino County including but not limited to schools, nursing homes, group homes, and government agencies.
