Summary of Request

This is a retroactive agreement with CDFA that provides reimbursement for Phytophthora Ramorum (SOD) Quarantine program activities performed by County Staff for the term of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. This contract is retroactive because it was late coming from the State; however, County staff have been doing work. Phytophthora Ramorum - Quarantined (SOD) is a pest exclusion program run through the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The mission of Pest Exclusion is to keep exotic agricultural and environmental pests out of the state of California and to prevent or limit the spread of newly discovered pest within the state. To accomplish this mission, the Branch has two roles: (1) quarantine regulatory compliance and enforcement and (2) service to the agriculture industry and the public.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Deny approval of agreement and pay for required Phytophthora Ramorum - Quarantine (SOD) program activities with County General Fund
