Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
Grand Jury reports routinely require responses from the Board of Supervisors. Board responses are formally approved prior to the submittal to the presiding Judge of the Superior Court and the Grand Jury. On June 5, 2024, the Board appointed the Ad Hoc Committee of Supervisors Maureen Mulheren and John Haschak to respond to the Grand Jury report titled "Mendocino County Family and Children’s Services ‘The Broken Process of Family & Children’s Services’".
Summary of Request:
State law requires the Board of Supervisors to respond to Grand Jury findings and recommendations no later than 90 days after issuance of the report. Elected County or Agency Heads are required to respond within 60 days after the issuance of the report, with an informational copy to the Board of Supervisors. The Grand Jury report titled “Mendocino County Family and Children’s Services ‘The Broken Process of Family & Children’s Services’”, requires responses from the Board of Supervisors to the following recommendations, R10, R12, R13, R21 and R23.
