Approve Agreement with North Coast Opportunities, Inc. in the amount of $10,000 from one-time Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) Disaster Settlement Funds to purchase one 2014 Nissan Model CF50LP forklift for use by United Disaster Relief of Northern California to assist with goods and resources for individuals who have suffered a loss due to any natural disaster in Northern California, effective upon signing through June 30, 2022; authorize the Assistant Chief Executive Officer to sign amendments that do not increase the total contracted amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request:
On August 17, 2021, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved a Prioritized Spend related to projects for strategically investing one-time Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) disaster settlement funds, and authorized the Assistant Chief Executive Officer to prepare and bring forward the necessary contracts for distribution of funds to non-county agencies. The proposed contract with North Coast Opportunities, Inc. (NCO) in the amount of $10,000 to purchase a forklift for use by United Disaster Relief of Northern California is listed on the Prioritized Spend under United Disaster Relief of Northern California - Disaster Resource Center - $10,000 total.
Pursuant to the proposed Agreement, NCO will utilize funding to purchase one 2014 Nissan Model CF50LP Forklift. The forklift will be used to move goods and resources for NCO’s United Disaster Relief of Northern California program, a donation and distribution center set up to assist individuals who have suffered a loss due to any natural disaster in Northern California. Award of PG&E funds for providing these services enhances the County’s resiliency and directly facilitates effective response to disaster.
