Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On June 20, 2023, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Master Position Allocation Table for the FY 2023-2024 Budget, Resolution Number 23-109.
Summary of Request:
The Human Resources Department is charged, as part of the overall maintenance of the classification and compensation plan, to evaluate current classifications, create new classifications (including appropriate salary levels), reclassify positions, examine requests for salary grade adjustments, analyze allocations, and make recommendations for additions, modifications, and corrections.
Based on language in the 2022-2023 Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) for the Mendocino County Public Attorney’s Association (MCPAA) Human Resources was tasked with completing a classification and salary study. The classification study was completed and presented to the Civil Service Commission, and they approved classification specification modifications at its meeting on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
A salary study was completed per agreement in the 2022-2023 MOU. The impact shown below for the fiscal year is calculated at Step 5 and is retroactive to pay period 14-23 and includes the cost of benefits. The annual recurring cost shown below is calculated at Step 5 including the cost of benefits. Upon completing the salary study for the MCPAA classifications, Human Resources recommends the Public Attorney classifications salaries be revised. The recommended salary revision brings the benchmark classification to the comparable market using total compensation.
Alternative Action/Motion:
