Summary of Request:
The Museum is requesting approval of use of Funds from Fund 2710, Org 2710, Line Item 760850 Walker Endowment Principal in the amount of $4,150.46 and From Fund 2710, Org 2710, Line Item 760848 Museum Endowment Principal up to the amount of $6,849.27 to offset expense incurred in Fund 1100, Org MU, Line Item 862239 special department expense for maintenance and relocation of the Mark Walker Structures.
The County of Mendocino received a donation of sculptures from Folk Artist, Mark Walker, in 1988 that were accepted by the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors along with the parcel of land that they reside on, and an endowment intended for the sculptures ongoing care. The Museum, entrusted with the ongoing care and stewardship of the sculptures, has been concerned that the sculptures cannot be maintained properly or fully appreciated by the community at their current location just off Hwy 101 on the grade south of Willits. The Museum would like access to the funds for the purpose of maintenance and relocation.
