Summary of Request:
With the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, abortion rights were taken away from women. The California Senate introduced Senate Constitutional Amendment 10 on June 8, 2022, and passed it on June 20, 2022. The Assembly passed it on June 27, 2022. Senate Constitutional Amendment 10 would amend the California Constitution to prohibit the state from denying or interfering with an individual's reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions, which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an abortion and their fundamental right to choose or refuse contraceptives. Senate Constitutional Amendment 10 will be on the General Election November ballot.
