Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

On May 14, 2019 the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors adopted a Resolution allowing the application for funds under the Budget Act of 2018 for Voting System Replacement to help pay for the Voting System Replacement.

Summary of Request

On February 27, 2019, Mendocino County received notification from the California Secretary of State that our current voting system would be de-certified effective August 27, 2019.

The California Secretary of State has been delegated the responsibility for administration of the voting system replacement funds.  The County of Mendocino has been allocated $337,500 for replacement of our current voting system, which requires a dollar match for reimbursement.  Additionally, $10,000 has been allocated for cyber security and $10,000 for polling place accessibility; and $608,421 has been allocated through HAVA Section 301 Voting Systems Program funds.

The Voting System Replacement is included in the next Fiscal Year Budget.
