Summary of Request

The Public Defender’s office in Ukiah has maintained hard copies of all criminal, juvenile, probate, civil, and administrative records since 2010.  The Public Defender’s office desires to destroy certain hard copies of records as permitted under applicable laws and statutes to reduce departmental overhead.  As such, the Public Defender’s office requests the Board provide the Public Defender the authority, through this resolution and the records retention schedule, to destroy certain records.

Do not adopt the resolution and provide direction to staff.
