January 25, 2022, Item 7(a), closed session, the Board of Supervisors appointed Darcie Antle Interim Chief Executive Officer starting March 20, 2022, for up to 12 months.
Summary of Request:
This item proposes and recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the Employment Agreement between the County of Mendocino and Darcie Antle for the term of July 12, 2022 through July 11, 2026.
Ms. Antle was initially hired by Mendocino County in 2017 as the Disaster Finance Director. In 2018, Ms. Antle was promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer/Budget Officer, then in 2021 she was promoted to Assistant Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Antle was instrumental in budget development for the organization including; establishment of policies, recommending budgets, and establishing control. She works in collaboration with elected Auditor Controller on the County’s budget of over $350 million. She has been the Emergency Operation Finance Section Chief for the following emergencies: 2017 Redwood Complex Fire, 2018 River and Mendocino Complex Fire, 2018 Camp Fire, 2019 PG&E Public Power Shut Off (2), 2020 Oak and August Fires, 2020 COVID Pandemic, and 2021 Hopkins Fire.
Additionally Ms. Antle developed a Fiscal Unit that supports 10 divisions with payroll and accounts payable, and developed a Prevention, Recovery, Resiliency, and Mitigation division that currently manages over $40 million in grant revenue. She also collaborates with Cal OES and FEMA representatives to submit reimbursement and fiscal documentation timely. She attends meetings with key stakeholders to understand gaps in the recovery efforts and coordinates with local non-profit community partners on recovery approach to ensure survivors have access to resources needed to rebuild their lives.
In closed session on June 21, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved appointment of Ms. Antle as Chief Executive Officer for Mendocino County, effective July 12, 2022.
