Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On June 24, 2025, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Master Position Allocation Table for the FY 2025-2026 Budget, Resolution Number 25-111.
Summary of Request:
The Human Resources Department is charged, as part of the overall maintenance of the classification and compensation plan, to evaluate current classifications, create new classifications (including appropriate salary levels), reclassify positions, examine requests for salary grade adjustments, analyze allocations, and make recommendations for additions, modifications, and corrections.
During the February 24, 2026, the Board of Supervisors approved resolution 26-028 to increase the salaries of the Mental Health Clinician I and Mental Health Clinician II. Human Resources inadvertently excluded the request to increase the Supervising Mental Health Clinician at the same time which has resulted in the supervising classification making less than the Mental Health Clinician I and Mental Health Clinician II classifications. To address the salary inconsistency, it is requested that the Board of Supervisors approve the proposed salary revision for Supervising Mental Health Clinician from $78,166.40 - $94,993.60/annually to $89,793.60 - $109,158.40/annually.
Currently there is no incumbent in the Supervising Mental Health Clinician position.
The recurring cost shown below is calculated at step 5, including the cost of benefits.
The County has fulfilled its obligation under the Myers-Milias-Brown Act (MMBA) with the affected bargaining unit.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Do not adopt recommendation and direct staff.
