The BOS approved a letter of support for the Eel River Recovery Project's grant proposal for a State Coastal Conservancy Prop 1 grant.
Summary of Request:
The Eel River Recovery Project won a grant from the Coastal Conservancy Prop 1 for funding to advance water conservation and erosion control in the Tenmile Creek Wathershed. As part of the packet that the staff puts before the Board, they would like another letter supporting their decision to fund the project. This funding is important in improving the reliability of water supplies, restoring watershed hydrology, and increasing their resilience to future droughts. This portion of the grant will allow the ERRP to design gully erosion control structures for private land owners throughout the Tenmile Creek watershed. A letter of support from the Board of Supervisors would benefit the application for this grant.
