Recommended Action/Motion:

recommendation

Approve amendment to Agreement No U 16-001 with RCS related to the rehabilitation of an existing structure located at 1045 S. State Street, utilizing CDBG (12-CDBG-8399) funds, extending the termination date to December 31, 2018; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

On March 27, 2012, the Board of Supervisors authorized the submittal of an application for the 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD); on January 23, 2013, the State approved the application.  On July 11, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved an Amendment 12-CDBG-8399, reallocating Program Income to RCS.

Summary of Request

On July 11, 2017, the Board approved an amendment for RCS that reallocated Program Income from the existing CDBG grant, 12-CDBG-8399, to provide for additional funding to rehabilitate the existing structure located at 1045 S. State Street.  During the scheduled work on the building, more time was needed than anticipated.  This extension will allow for RCS to complete the final billing on the project to the grant, prior to the termination of the grant in December 2018.  Without this extension, RCS would not be able to bill against the grant for any work completed after August 1st.
