Approve retroactive Agreement with County of Del Norte for youth detention services provided by County of Mendocino Juvenile Hall for the period of December 10, 2024, through June 30, 2026, at a daily bed rate of $175 and reimbursement for medical related expenses; authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign any future amendments that do not increase the total Agreement amount; and authorize the Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request:
Del Norte County Probation contracts with other counties for their juvenile detention services as they no longer operate a juvenile detention facility in their county. Del Norte Probation requested to enter into a daily bed rate contract with Mendocino County in the event that other counties with whom they were contracting had insufficient bed space to accommodate their needs. This agreement would provide a daily bed rate of $175 on an as-needed basis when Mendocino County Juvenile Hall has available capacity. This is a revenue agreement for Mendocino County. Del Norte County will be invoiced on a monthly basis for daily housing as well as other costs such as medical services, medications, etc. This Agreement is a Del Norte County agreement. The additional time required to get approvals from originating county for changes to the agreement required by Mendocino County resulted in this agreement being retroactive.
