recommendation

Approve retroactive second amendment to Agreement No. BOS-21-141 with the Community Foundation of Mendocino County for Covid-19 Food Relief Services, increasing the amount from $473,000 to $539,000, for the term June 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022; and authorize Chair to sign same.

End

Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

The Board approved the original Agreement for $275,000 at the July 13, 2021 meeting and approved the first amendment bringing the agreement to $473,000 at the September 28, 2021 meeting.

Summary of Request

The original agreement was to rapidly deploy food to the most at risk and vulnerable in the community who were dependent on the Great Plates Program that was ending abruptly.  The first amendment was to extend the agreement end date to March 2022 and increase the food relief amount by $180,000 plus $18,000 indirect administrative cost to Community Foundation.  The additional $66,000 in this second amendment as requested is to follow through with the County’s commitment for the program until March 2022, not to extend the program. The County will use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to fund this amendment.
