Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On July 31, 2018, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 18-104, declaring an emergency related to the Mendocino Complex Fire. This Resolution has been adopted monthly declaring continuations of the local emergency.
Summary of Request:
On July 27, 2018, the Mendocino Complex Fire started and has resulted in threats to critical infrastructure, including public safety communications systems, structural damage and evacuations of several portions of the County. On July 27, 2018, the Mendocino County Chief Executive Officer/Director of Emergency services proclaimed, by delegation, that a state of emergency exists. On July 31, 2018, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 18-104, declaring an emergency related to the Mendocino Complex Fire. On August 21, 2018, September 11, 2018, October 2, 2018, November 6, 2018, December 4, 2018, December 18, 2018, January 8, 2019, February 5, 2019, February 26, 2019, March 26, 2019, April 23, 2019, May 21, 2019, and June 18, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Nos. 18-125, 18-133, 18-145, 18-161, 18-176, 18-194, 19-001, 19-024, 19-030, 19-146, 19-164, 19-188, and 19-196 respectively, declaring a continuation of the local emergency.
Pursuant to MCC Section 7.04.090(3), the Board of Supervisors shall review, at its regularly scheduled meetings until the local emergency is terminated, the need for continuing the local emergency. However in no event shall a review take place more than thirty (30) days after the previous review. It is proposed that at its meeting on July 16, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopt a Resolution declaring the continuation of the local emergency.
