Summary of Request

The Mobile Command Unit “Com 11 Trailer” was purchased with 2017 Homeland Security Grant Funds with support of law enforcement and fire command staff.  An agreement was made for the UVF to house and dispatch the trailer when needed for response for disasters, search and rescue or law enforcement actions to be used as a mobile command and dispatching center.  In July of 2018 the UVF relinquished its commitment with the trailer and moved it to the MCSO care and custody. Law enforcement will now house and dispatch the trailer when needed for disasters, search and rescue or law enforcement actions.  The trailer is set up with command center capabilities and also provides a conference room for field operations and provides a space for personnel to get out of the elements and to plan operations.  MCSO has a dedicated vehicle for the towing of the trailer.
