Summary of Request

Mendocino County, working with the California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) has done a stellar job in processing cannabis cultivation licenses so that they can get their state annual permit. This process is working. Yet, in Mendocino County, the number of unpermitted cannabis grows continues with environmental damage and associated crime, while undermining the economic viability of the legal market. This letter is a request to the DCC, Department of Fish and Wildlife, Regional Water Board, and state legislators including Senate President Pro Tem Mike McGuire, Assemblymember Chris Rogers, and Governor Gavin Newsom to assist in enforcing the state laws regarding unpermitted cannabis grows.
