Adopt Resolution authorizing the Agricultural Commissioner to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture in the amount of $133,000 for the term of February 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020, for reimbursement of commercial cannabis cultivation compliance inspection activities; authorize the Agricultural Commissioner to sign any amendments thereto that do not increase the maximum total amount of the Agreement and provide any assurances or certifications required to enter into the Agreement; and authorize Chair to sign same.

On May 22, 2018, the Board adopted a resolution authorizing the Agricultural Commissioner to Execute a Cooperative Agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture in the Amount of $101,762.31 for Reimbursement of Commercial Cannabis Cultivation Compliance Inspection Activities for the term of May 1, 2018 through November 30, 2018.
Summary of Request:
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) CalCannabis Program is the licensing entity for commercial cannabis cultivation activity in the State of California. CDFA desires to enter into a cooperative agreement with the Mendocino County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office for the Agricultural Commissioner to provide commercial cannabis cultivation compliance inspections of state-licensed cultivation sties in support of the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act for the term of February 1, 2018 through June 30, 2020. Under the proposed agreement, CDFA will reimburse the County of Mendocino in the amount of $133,000. The Mendocino County Agricultural Commissioner is requesting authorization from the Board of Supervisors to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with CDFA.
