Summary of Request

Mendocino County Planning and Building Services (PBS) released a Request for Proposal (RFP) of Code Enforcement Management, PBS 20-004, in July of 2020.  Three responsive proposals were submitted and rated by three individual reviewers.  Of those reviews, Taylor Code Consulting received the highest scores and displays the most professional knowledge, desirable skills, previous enforcement experience and County government experience. Scope of work for the agreement will include Code Enforcement Consulting, Cannabis Regulatory Enforcement, Fire/Disaster Recovery and COVID Response, as well as advising staff on code enforcement policies and procedures, assistance with abatement of abandoned vehicles, and direction on contracts related to the code enforcement division, etc.  Funding will be partially provided through Nuisance Abatement funds as well as violation and penalty fees related to building permits and planning applications collected from code enforcement action.
