Summary of Request:
The Jail Kitchen mixer is failing and the parts necessary to repair it are no longer made. The mixer is utilized by inmates to make bread and other baked food items on a daily basis. An appropriation for replacement of the mixer was included in the adopted FY22-23 Jail Budget (BU 2510), however, this item was not included in the annual list of approved fixed assets.
On August 29, 2022, a Request for Quotations (RFQ) was issued by the General Services Agency for the mixer. The successful bid was submitted by East Bay Restaurant Supply in the amount of $45,801. The Sheriff’s Office is requesting approval to purchase the replacement mixer from East Bay Restaurant Supply and add the equipment to the County’s list of fixed assets.
