Summary of Request:
Bart Kronfeld, Esq. has provided Conflict Public Defender Legal Services for Mendocino County for over 17 years. With an office on the Coast, Mr. Kronfeld has accepted conflict Public Defender cases, including trials, assigned to the Ten Mile and Point Arena Courts for felonies, misdemeanors, and juvenile cases. Upon order from the Court, Mr. Kronfeld has provided legal services without expense to defendants. Mr. Kronfeld has also submitted quarterly forms as required by the State subvention to the Office of the Public Defender, and annual reports as required by Government Code section 27710.
The most recent Request for Proposals (RFP) No. RFP-007-21 dates back to 2021. The County of Mendocino plans to process a new RFP within the next six months, and the proposed retroactive Agreement with Mr. Kronfeld dating back to July 1, 2025, ensures continued services while the RFP is conducted.
