Summary of Request

Across the nation, people are recognizing the week of May 21-27, 2017 as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week and acknowledging the valuable service provided by EMS responders.  In recognition of this vital public service, we are requesting that the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors proclaim the week of May 21-27, 2017 as Emergency Medical Services Week.  EMS teams consist of emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, dispatch centers, law enforcement personnel, educators, administrators, and many others.

As a focal point for local EMS Week activities, the 5th annual reunion of patient survivors and their rescuers will be held on May 24, 2017 where local emergency response agencies will join in recognizing these local heroes.

We would like to extend an invitation to all Board members to attend the Survivor’s Reunion and ask that one read the proclamation at this event.
