Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On March 9, 2021 the Board of Supervisors during the budget workshop discussed obtaining input from the Community and County Departments regarding priority projects within the County that could be funded by the PG&E Disaster Settlement Funds.
On May 4, 2021, Item 5(d), the Board accepted presentation by Redwood Valley-Calpella Fire District outlining requested projects to be funded with a portion of PG&E Disaster Settlement Funds.
August 17, 2021, Item 4(f), the Board accepted prioritized spend for projects utilizing PG&E Disaster Settlement Funds, including approval to award $1,000,000 to Redwood Valley Calpella Fire District for purchase of a Type 1 Structure Fire Truck.
Summary of Request:
The Board of Supervisors approved Redwood Valley-Calpella Fire District’s proposal to purchase one Type 1 fire truck at the August 17, 2021 meeting. After the item was approved, the Redwood Valley-Calpella Fire District finds it would be the best interest of the community to use the allocated $1,000,000 to purchase three fire engines with the remaining $200,000 to be used to outfit the three engines instead. Details on the three engines and the outfitting costs are attached to the agenda item.
Staff is seeking the Board of Supervisor’s approval for the proposal change to reallocate the $1,000,000 towards three fire engines and outfitting of those three engines. This proposal change does not affect the Board’s total PG&E settlement funds allocated to the Redwood Valley-Calpella Fire District.
Alternative Action/Motion:
