Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
April 20, 2021, BOS Item 4(x), approval of retroactive agreement #21-068 with North Coast Opportunities, Inc.
Summary of Request:
Since August 2020, North Coast Opportunities, Inc. (NCO) has been supporting the county in an effort to assist the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Health and Human Services Agency entered into an agreement with NCO on August 19, 2020 in the amount of $25,000 for the period January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021 to provide COVID-19 relief services to families requiring urgent support to address housing and food crises during the pandemic totaling $25,000. That original Agreement was later expanded to include meal and personal hygiene supplies including delivery to individuals placed in quarantine or isolation. This amendment extends the term of the original Agreement to a new end date of June 30, 2022, and increases the amount payable by $10,000 for a new total of $35,000.
Due to the unpredictability of the COVID-19 pandemic, this Amendment was not anticipated. Additionally, Public Health staff priorities have been adversely affect by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This Amendment was processed as soon as possible, but still requires a retroactive start date in order to keep services current.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
