Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

Resolution No. 09-202 created a Master Records Retention Schedule for the General Services Agency’s Central Services Division.                     

 

Summary of Request

The Department of Social Services (the “Department”) has maintained physical copies of the records identified in this resolution and the storage of such records occupies a large amount of space which is needed to store other, more pertinent documents and supplies.

 

As such, the Department requests the Board provide the Department the authority, through this resolution and the records retention schedule, to destroy certain records. The Department will continue to retain all records within the required retention and utilize California State Agencies’ electronic records system established trusted system for the conversion of certain hardcopy official records to electronic records pursuant to Government Code Sections 26205.1.

Do not adopt the resolution and provide direction to staff.
