Summary of Request

The cities of Ukiah, Fort Bragg, Willits, Point Arena, Clearlake, and Lakeport entered into a Mutual Aid Agreement in 2022 to allow sharing of resources, facilities, personnel, and services in the event of an emergency or other extraordinary or unusual circumstance. Pursuant to the Agreement, any party may request the Aid of any other party or parties, but response is specified to be on a strictly voluntary basis with no liability assigned to a party if unable to respond. Parties who are able to respond are to develop emergency plans providing for effective mobilization of their resources and to keep accounting records of the personnel, equipment, and materials provided. Costs associated with providing aid are to be reimbursed to the provider by the recipient, and any borrowed materials are to be returned in the same condition as they were when borrowed.

Board approval of this item will allow Mendocino County to become a party to the Agreement after approval by the city managers of the original signatories.
