Summary of Request:
The Cannabis Department is requesting approval to amend the current Agreement with 4LEAF, Inc., to pay for contract planning services. The total potential contract amount will be increased by an additional $496,000, for a new total amount not to exceed $3,706,541.70.
This agreement will continue to provide contract planning services to support the County with the processing of applications for commercial cannabis cultivation and nursery operations needing to transition from a State provisional license to an Annual License. There is a State requirement that this workload be completed by December 31, 2024.
The Contractor must receive written authorization from staff to provide services, as that term is defined in Exhibit A, which would exceed $3,485,101.70 in total compensation under Agreement No. BOS 23-02.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Do not approve the proposed amendment request and provide alternative direction to staff.
