Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

Mendocino County Policy No. 17 was adopted by the Board on November 25, 1975, and last amended by the Board on May 8, 2007.

Summary of Request

The County of Mendocino officially adopted a flag display policy on November 25, 1975, in order to be generally consistent with the national policy and to provide guidance to County departments as to when the flag is to be flown at half-staff.

The Executive Office is recommending that the Board approve the proposed revisions to Policy No. 17 which expands the existing policy, which focused on when to fly the flag at half-staff, to include provisions on flying ceremonial flags.
