Approve amendment to BOS Agreement No. 23-081 with Axon Enterprise, Inc. in the amount of $89,344.08 covering a four-year period to provide additional body-worn cameras, related equipment, and licensing for Sheriff’s Patrol, Bailiffs, and Professional Standards Bureau staff effective upon signing through June 30, 2027; authorize the Sheriff to sign any future amendments that do not affect the maximum Agreement total; and authorize the Chair to sign same.

Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On May 23, 2023, the Board approved a five-year Agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. in the amount of $379,553.75 for a digital evidence management system with a term of June 1, 2023 through June 30, 2027. On October 17, 2023, the Board approved the first amendment in the amount of $321,829.70 covering a five-year period for the addition of body-worn cameras and licensing for Sheriff’s patrol staff. On February 27, 2024, the Board approved the second amendment in the amount of $33,384 covering a four-year period for the addition of redaction assistant licensing.
Summary of Request:
Approval of a third amendment is being requested to BOS Agreement 23-081 with Axon Enterprise, Inc. for the addition of ten (10) body-worn cameras, related equipment and required licensing effective upon signing through June 30, 2027 in the amount of $89,344.08 to be paid over a four-year period for a new Agreement total of $824,111.53. The additional body-worn cameras will be assigned to patrol staff, bailiffs and Professional Standards Bureau staff. The cameras will work in conjunction with the existing digital evidence management system and will be used to document digital and audio video recordings of law enforcement activity promoting greater transparency and accountability in the Sheriff’s Office interactions with the public.
