Summary of Request:
The General Services Agency has identified the immediate need to remediate hazardous conditions and restore key features to Bower Park that are in the best interest of the residents of the county.
The County of Mendocino received a Local Assistance Specified Grant from the State of California, The Natural Resources Agency, Department of Parks and Recreation Office of Grants and Local Services in the Amount of $2,200,000.
At the April 25, 2023, meeting, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors approved BOS Agreement 23-062 with the State of California Natural Resources Agency Department of Parks and Recreation for general fund specified grant for Bower Park Restoration, in the amount of $2,200,000.
In August of 2023, the County issued Request for Proposal (RFP) 046-23 seeking qualified Professional Landscape Architecture firms to support the Facilities and Fleet Division in completing the evaluation and design of the Bower Park Restoration Project. Integra Planning and Landscape Architecture, Inc. was determined to be the most qualified vendor through that competitive process. The General Services Agency recommends awarding the Agreement in the amount of $357,756 to Integra Planning and Landscape Architecture, Inc. for providing Architectural Design, Engineering and Project Management for the Bower Park Restoration Project.
