Summary of Request

Mendocino County Youth Project provides 24.0 hours per week mental health services to Probation youth attending the New Beginnings School.  Services are provided by a licensed or licensed-eligible counselor or clinician approved by both MCYP and Probation.  The counselor works with Probation staff as needed to provide crisis intervention assessment, counseling and case management, develop client treatment plans, provide individual, group and family therapy and make referrals to outside agencies.  Services provided at New Beginnings can be coordinated with services provided at Juvenile Hall and the Foundations/Dual Diagnosis programs also provided by MCYP as youth move through various stages of the juvenile justice system, thus providing an effective continuum of care.
