Most recent action on July 9, 2024, Item 3w) approval of BOS Agreement No. 24-123
Summary of Request:
Mendocino County Department of Social Services, Special Investigations Unit (SIU), issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) No. RFP 009-25 for security guard services on February 21, 2025. SIU selected Armorous Private Security (Armorous) as the top ranked vendor to contract with Social Services for security guard services. The proposed Agreement with Armorous in the amount of $68,640 for six (6) months.
Pursuant to the proposed Agreement, Armorous will continue to provide two (2) uniformed and supervised Security Guards for forty hours per week at each of the following Social Services sites:
• Fort Bragg Avila Center (764/790 South Franklin Street, Fort Bragg)
• Willits Integrated Services Center, (WISC) (472 East Valley Street, Willits)
This is a retroactive agreement. Initially, Social Services intended to provide security services for one year to all three Social Services offices. Due to budget constraints, Social Services decided to withdraw the one-year contract and provide alternative security options to all locations. To provide security services during the transition period, Social Services will contract with Armorous for six (6) months for services provided at the Fort Bragg Avila Center and Willits Integrated Services Center. SIU will provide services at the Ukiah Yokayo Social Services Campus. Due to the reevaluation and rearrangement of security services, and rerouting the updated contract, this agreement is retroactive. This ensures that essential continuous security services are provided at the Fort Bragg and Willits campuses.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
