Summary of Request:
A federal grant has been awarded to AVHC/AVHA for acquisition of an existing 5-unit multifamily property in order to preserve affordable housing in the area for approximately 20 residents at 200% of the poverty level or below. The funds to be used to remove a lien on the property and turn ownership over to the Anderson Valley Health Center. Four of the units at the new apartment complex have been reserved for individuals at 200% of poverty level or below and farm workers that work in our local agricultural businesses. One of the units is used as a property manager’s unit and the three apartments will be rented at or below market rate.
Three attached documents:
1. The award letter; Congressman Huffman requested consolidated appropriations money from the Community Project Fund and it was approved in the amount of $400,000
2. The HUD application that AVHA and AVHC submitted to apply for the fund drawdown
3. The part 58 CEST paperwork that we had an environmental consultant prepare (this is the type of environmental review necessary for a project which was already built and had no renovation or change in square footage).
Next steps: County to act as Responsible Entity, upload to HEROs, review the attached environmental review and authorize a fund drawdown.
