Approve of Retroactive California Integrated Vital Records System Data Privacy and Security Agreement with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Center for Health Statistics and Informatics, in the amount of $0, to streamline and manage the exchange of birth and death record data with CDPH, effective April 26, 2023, through April 25, 2028; authorize the Public Health Director or designee to sign the Agreement and any future amendments that do not exceed the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and its Director, designated in statute as the State Registrar, pursuant to Division 102 of the California Health and Safety Code, is charged with the duties of registering, maintaining, indexing and issuing certified copies of all California Birth, Death, and Fetal Death records. As part of these activities, the State Registrar operates the Vital Records Business Intelligence System (VRBIS), the Electronic Birth Registration System (EBRS), the Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS), and the Fetal Death Registration System (FDRS).
