RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt resolution authorizing submission of a grant application for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Matching Grant for the pavement rehabilitation of the apron at Little River Airport and authorizing the Director of Transportation to accept the grant and execute the grant agreement on behalf of Mendocino County (Little River Area); and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
By Resolution Number (No.) 20-037 (April 7, 2020), the Board approved grant funding for the Airport Pavement Management Plan Update for Little River Airport. By Resolution No. 23-151 (August 29, 2023), the Board approved grant funding through the FAA's AIP program for pavement rehabilitation of the apron at Little River Airport.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The apron in front of the office at Little River Airport is in poor condition and needs rehabilitation. Disintegrating asphalt produces small gravel which is hazardous and potentially damaging to aircraft. The FAA approved the AIP grant and was authorized by the Board on August 29, 2023. Caltrans DOA offers 5% AIP matching funds to assist airports with local match requirements.
